Antique 19th Century Lancashire Dining Chairs

Beautiful antique set of eight oak Lancashire chairs, consisting of two arm chairs and six side chairs, with a top crest rail, double row of decorative spindles secured by two horizontal rails, upholstered pop out seat, original weaving, and an H-stretcher.

This design of chair was originally made in the Lancashire and Cheshire region of the North West of England, but was commonly known as a “Lancashire” chair. They were made for use in kitchens in simple country homes around the North West area during the time of the great mills in the Industrial Revolution.
